Iceland Gazettes Law Amending Social Security Contribution, Withholding Tax Payment Deadlines Due to Coronavirus

The Icelandic Official Gazette Jan. 18 published Law No. 2/2022, amending payment deadlines for social security contributions and withholding taxes due to the coronavirus pandemic. The law includes measures: 1) providing six installments between Sept. 15, 2022, and Feb. 15, 2023, for withholding tax on wages and employer contributions; 2) allowing employers to submit applications for payment deferrals by the Jan. 31, 2022, deadline; and 3) setting conditions for payment deadline deferrals.
