The Icelandic Directorate of Internal Revenue Dec. 23 announced the total social security tax rate of 6.35 percent for withholding year 2025, unchanged from withholding year 2024. The rate consists of: 1) a 4.90 percent social security contribution; 2) a 1.35 percent employment insurance contribution; 3) a 0.05 percent wage guarantee fund contribution; and 4) a 0.05 percent market contribution.
