Idaho Tax Commission Announces Automatic Income Tax Filing Extension Requirements

The Idaho State Tax Commission announced that taxpayers who are unable to file their 2025 returns by the April 15 deadline may receive an automatic six-month filing extension if they pay 80 percent of their estimated 2025 tax liability by April 15, or if 100 percent of the tax reported on their 2024 return is paid off. The extension applies only to filing, not payment, and taxpayers will incur 6 percent annual interest on unpaid taxes after April 15, along with penalties for late payment.
