IMF Official Urges Progressive Taxation, Policies to Spur Growth

Countries in the Middle East and Central Asia should broaden their tax bases and make them more progressive to address revenue challenges, International Monetary Fund First Deputy Managing Director Gita Gopinath said Wednesday.

“Making the right kinds of investments, doing it with an eye on equity, with more inclusive growth is absolutely critical,” Gopinath said during an IMF webinar.
