Ireland to Cut VAT to 9% From 13.5% on Gas and Electricity

Irish government moves to cut sales tax on gas and electricity for six months from 1 May, Finance Minister Paschal Donohoe tells reporters in Dublin.

  • Govt also to further cut tax on gas-oil by 2.7 cents
  • Tax cuts on gasoline to be extended until next budget announced
    • Budget usually published in mid-October
  • Donohoe sees inflation remaining above 6% this year
