The Isle of Man Government Feb. 18 announced the approval by Parliament (Tynwald) of new hourly minimum wage rates, effective April 1. The announcement includes increases to: 1) 12.86 British pounds (US$17.30) from 12.25 pounds (US$16.48), in the standard hourly minimum wage rate for individuals who are the age of 18 or over; and 2) 10.16 pounds (US$13.67) from 9.55 pounds (US$12.84) in the youth hourly minimum wage rate for individuals who are over compulsory school leaving age but under the age of 18.
