Italy’s efforts to combat tax evasion brought in close to €30 billion ($34.7 billion) in 2025, according to an announcement Wednesday.
The amount was part of a record-breaking collection year for the Italian Revenue Agency, which brought in a total sum of €36.2 billion ($41.8 billion) for 2025. This is an 8.4% increase from 2024, according to the press release.
The same year, revenue authorities also collected €595 billion from individuals, a 2.8% increase from 2024.
Of the €29 billion collected in the tax evasion crackdown, around half of that revenue was paid following a direct notice from the agency. ...
