Italy Aims to Cut Income Tax in 2021, Gualtieri Tells Repubblica

The Italian government will work on cutting taxes in fiscal 2021, including personal income tax, Finance Minister Roberto Gualtieri told La Repubblica in an interview.

The minister favors the German tax model with a progressive tax rate, but the government hasn’t made any decision yet on whether to adopt the same system, he told the Italian daily.

The country’s economy is going through a “strong” rebound as shown by the industrial production data for May and June, Gualtieri told La Repubblica, adding that the economy is forecast to grow slightly below 15% in the third quarter.
