Italy Cabinet Approves Legislative Decree Implementing DAC7 EU Directive on AEOI for Digital Platform Operators

The Italian Council of Ministers Feb. 23 approved a legislative decree to implement EU Council Directive 2021/514, on the mandatory automatic exchange of financial account information (AEOI) for digital platform operators (DAC7), applicable from Jan. 1. The decree includes measures to: 1) require digital platform operators to report information on sellers concluding property leasing transactions on their platforms, including fees received; and 2) require operators to periodically report information on the identities of sellers.
