Italy MOF Announces Upcoming Amendments to 2026 Budget Law

The Italian Ministry of Economy and Finance March 12 issued Press Release No. 31, on upcoming amendments to Law No. 199/2025, the 2026 Budget Law. The amendments includes measures to: 1) postpone, until June 30, the provisions related to the administrative fee on imports worth less than 150 euros (US$172.79); 2) clarify that the new criterion for determining the VAT-taxable amount of exchange transactions and payments, which assumes the total costs as the VAT-taxable amount, only applies to transactions under contracts entered into or renewed after Jan. 1; and 3) modify the hyper-depreciation provisions to increase the acquisition costs of ...
