Italy Tax Agency Clarifies Tax Incentives for Low-Emission Vehicles

The Italian Revenue Agency Feb. 28 clarified individual and corporate income tax incentives for the registration of low-emission vehicles. The clarification includes: 1) a tax credit for the purchase of vehicles with emissions under 70 CO2 g/km; 2) an eco-tax for the registration of vehicles with emissions over 160 CO2 g/km; 3) methods to determine the CO2 amount for tax purposes; and 4) incentives for the purchase of electric or hybrid vehicles and the scrapping of high-emission vehicles.
