Italy Tax Agency Issues Protocol Clarifying VAT Returns, Deductions on VAT Imports

The Italian Revenue Agency July 7 issued Protocol No. 268755/2022, clarifying VAT return rules and deductions on VAT imports. The tax agency clarified: 1) tax obligations for specific taxpayers concerning VAT deductions and the information made available to taxpayers; 2) the procedure for taxpayers to request information or to report to the agency various types of information; and 3) methods by which taxpayers can regularize errors or omissions in order to reduce penalties.
