Japan Parliament Passes Bills to Ratify DTAs, Protocol With Algeria, Azerbaijan

The Japanese Parliament May 24 passed two bills to ratify: 1) the DTA and protocol with Algeria, signed Feb. 7, 2023; and 2) the DTA with Azerbaijan, signed Dec. 27, 2022, which will replace the 1986 DTA and protocol currently in force, originally signed with the Soviet Union and extended to Azerbaijan after dissolution.
