Japan Tax Agency Announces Deadlines for Income Tax Returns, Payments Due to Health Epidemic

The Japanese National Tax Agency Feb. 27 announced deadline extensions for paying and filing income tax returns due to the current health epidemic. The announcement includes: 1) an extension to April 16 from between Feb. 17 and March 16 to file and pay income taxes; 2) a Dec. 31, 2024 deadline to file for a 2019 tax refund; and 3) the option to file electronically.
