The Japanese Tax Agency has received the details of 2.06 million offshore accounts held by Japanese individuals and corporations under an international information exchange agreement.
The data pertain to accounts held in 86 countries and regions in the year to June 2020, under an internationally agreed standard to prevent tax evasion, it said Tuesday. It said it also obtained details of 2.19 million accounts by Japanese individuals and companies for the period of July 2020 to Jan. 15, 2021.
