Kazakhstan Lower House Passes Bill on Tax Code Amendments Due to Coronavirus

The Kazakh lower house of Parliament (Mazhilis) June 10 passed a Bill No. 1211-VI MP, to amend the tax code due to the coronavirus pandemic. The bill includes measures to: 1) provide a tax amnesty program to waive penalties for taxpayers with property tax and vehicle tax arrears as of April 1, provided the the arrears are paid before Dec. 31; 2) offer the tax amnesty program to property tax, and vehicle tax arrears accrued from Jan. 1; 3) postpone the VAT payment deadline for Q2, Q3 2020 to February 2021 for national infrastructure businesses; 4) increase the VAT refund ...
