Kenya Lower House Considers VAT (Amendment) Bill 2026

The Kenyan lower house of parliament (National Assembly) April 10 accepted for consideration Bill No. 21, the VAT (Amendment) Bill 2026. The bill includes a measure to reduce to 8 percent, from 16 percent, the VAT rate on specified fuel products, including premium gasoline, illuminating kerosene, and gas oil for high-speed engines. The law would take effect April 15 and apply until July 14, subject to a further 90-day extension. [Kenya, Parliament, 04/10/26]
