Latvia Gazettes Law Amending Tax Relief in Free Ports, SEZs

The Latvian Official Gazette April 2 published a law amending tax relief in free ports and special economic zones (SEZs). The law includes measures: 1) excluding from direct tax relief in specified SEZs capital companies that invest in the manufacture of specified beverages, tobacco products, financial and insurance activities, and other individual services; and 2) extending until Dec. 31, 2050, the application of the direct tax relief, provided investments or salary obligations are completed by Dec. 31, 2035, under the relevant contracts.
