Latvia Parliament Considers Bill to Amend Law on Individual Income Tax

The Latvian Parliament (Saeima) Feb. 18 accepted for consideration Bill No. 1219, to amend the Individual Income Tax Law. The bill includes measures to: 1) provide a 100 percent individual income tax exemption on employment income, for parents with two or more children in their care; 2) allow the relief to apply to one of the parents for children of their choice; 3) specify that qualifying children are minors, or are children up to the age of 24 who attend general, vocational, or higher education full-time; and 4) require the Cabinet of Ministers to determine the procedures for applying the ...
