Law Firm Probing Tax Scandal to Repay Denmark Due to Conflicts

The law firm Bech-Bruun must reimburse the Danish government the fee it received to investigate a $2 billion tax scandal after it was found not to be impartial.

The firm must pay back 3.5 million kroner ($529,000), while several lawyers were fined, the Tax Ministry said in a statement in Copenhagen on July 4. The Danish Bar and Law Society’s disciplinary board found that the firm faced conflicts and shouldn’t have bid for the work.
