The Lithuanian Official Gazette June 20 published Law No. XV-287, amending the VAT Law. The law includes measures: 1) increasing the preferential VAT rate to 12 percent from 9 percent; 2) applying the 12 percent preferential VAT rate to specified accommodation services, passenger transport services with regular routes and passenger luggage transport services, and visits to all art and cultural institutions and events, subject to conditions; and 3) applying the 5 percent reduced VAT rate to printed and electronic books and electronic non-periodical information publications, with exceptions.
