The Lithuanian State Tax Inspectorate April 17 opened a consultation on draft amendments to the commentary for Article 53 of the VAT Law, on rules for international trade. The draft amendments would update the commentary on: 1) when the purchase of goods from another EU member country is exempt from VAT; 2) when the zero percent VAT rate is charged on services directly related to certain goods; and 3) when VAT must be computed on temporarily stored goods, or on goods subject to customs procedures or supervision. Comments are due April 30. [Lithuania, State Tax Inspectorate, 04/17/24]
