Lower California February Bar Pass Score Gets Committee Nod (1)

California Bar Exam scores should be adjusted to account for the chaos of the February administration, a State Bar committee recommended, likely raising the pass rate compared to prior years.

The Committee of Bar Examiners said that the minimum raw score to pass the exam should be set at 534, which is lower than the 560 recommended by a psychometrician that the State Bar said would likely bring pass rates in line with prior February exams.

Traditionally, a scaled score of 1390 is required to pass the exam, but it’s not clear yet how this lower raw score will translate ...
