Luxembourg Gazettes 2022 Budget Law

The Luxembourgish Official Gazette Dec. 21 published the 2022 Budget Law. The law includes measures: 1) introducing a new tax treatment for the new European individual retirement savings product; 2) introducing a 10 percent flat-rate tax for temporary workers who earn up to 25 euros (US$28) per hour; 3) extending the tax credit regime for hiring the unemployed to Dec. 31, 2023, from Dec. 31, 2021; 4) amending specific rules related to excise taxes on energy products, electricity, tobacco products, and alcoholic beverages; and 5) expanding tax relief for the maintenance of homes with thermal solar installations.
