Malaysia Customs Agency Explains Service Tax Exemption Amendments for Stock Brokerage Services

The Malaysian Customs Department March 1 issued Service Tax Policy No. 3/2021 (Amendment No. 1), explaining service tax exemption amendments for brokerage services trading stock. The amendments include: 1) the registration requirement for stockbroker service providers; and 2) the requirement for a detailed submission of Form SST-02, regardless of whether taxes are due, including the value of exempted services.
