Malaysia Ex-PM Najib Loses Court Bid to Appeal Tax Bill: Edge

Malaysia’s highest court dismissed jailed ex-premier Najib Razak and his son’s bid to appeal an order to pay the government 1.7 billion ringgit ($359 million) and 37.5 million ringgit, respectively, in tax arrears, according to The Edge.

The five-person Federal Court bench said the duo were treated fairly and the tax ruling was in line with the Federal Constitution, the Edge reported Monday, citing Federal Court judge Nallini Pathmanathan. They upheld the High Court and Appeals Court’s decision that Najib and his son Nazifuddin Najib must pay the sum owed.
