Malaysia Tax Agency Issues Guidelines on Employee Withholding Tax Rules for Employers

The Malaysian Inland Revenue Board Nov. 17 issued Guideline No. 4/2020, on the rules for monthly employee taxes withheld by employers (PCB). Topics covered include: 1) the employer’s responsibilities; 2) the method to calculate PCB for regular compensation and for any additional compensation, along with formulas and examples; and 3) discounts and rebates allowed.
