The Malaysian Inland Revenue Board Oct. 4 issued updated guidelines on the 2024 e-invoicing requirements, with examples and FAQs. Topics covered include: 1) mandatory e-invoice implementation from Aug. 1, 2024, for taxpayers with annual turnover exceeding 100 million Malaysian ringgits (US$23.3 million); 2) mandatory e-invoice implementation from Jan. 1, 2025, for taxpayers with turnover between 25 million ringgits (US$5.8 million) and 100 million ringgits; 3) mandatory e-invoice implementation from July 1, 2025, for all other taxpayers; and 4) updated information on which taxpayers are exempt from mandatory e-invoicing.
