Maryland Delays Earned Income Tax Credit Assistance Program Implementation

The Maryland Governor signed a law that includes delaying until the taxable year beginning after Dec. 31, 2029, the implementation of the Earned income Tax Credit Assistance Program for the purpose of identifying residents who are eligible to claim the credit but have failed to do so, and providing identified eligible residents with a streamlined mechanism to claim the credit. The law takes effect on July 1. [S.B. 519, enacted 04/28/26]
