Mauritania Becomes 137th Country to Sign Global Tax Deal

Mauritania joined an October agreement on a global tax overhaul, bringing the number of signatories to 137, the OECD said Thursday.

It also joined the Inclusive Framework, the group of now 141 countries that have participated in the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development-led negotiations.

  • On Oct. 8, 136 countries signed a deal that will create a 15% global minimum corporate tax and reallocate a portion of the largest multinationals’ profits to more countries. Governments are now working to implement the changes in the next two years.
