Mauritius Assembly Considers 2023-24 Finance Bill to Implement Budget Measures

The Mauritian National Assembly July 11 accepted for consideration Bill No. XI, the 2023-24 Finance Bill, to implement budget measures. The bill includes measures to: 1) establish the Aug. 15 annual deadline for digital asset service providers to submit statements of financial transactions; 2) expand deductions for companies engaged in the manufacture of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, for expenditures on new plants and machinery, and extend the deductions through 2026; 3) apply land transfer tax where the value transferred exceeds 200,000 rupees (US$4,396), based on the value identified in either the deed or a certification from a professional accountant, whichever ...
