Mauritius Gazettes Regulation Increasing 2024 National Monthly Minimum Wage

The Mauritian Official Gazette Jan. 17 published Regulation No. 8/2024, increasing the 2024 national monthly minimum wage. The regulation includes measures: 1) increasing the monthly minimum wage of full-time employees of a non-export enterprise to 16,500 Mauritian rupees (US$355.10) from 11,575 rupees (US$249.11) inclusive of the additional remuneration payable under the 2024 Workers’ Rights Regulations; 2) requiring specified part-time workers’ national minimum wages to be calculated according to Part I and Part III of the schedule; and 3) providing that benefits, such as any fixed remuneration, housing allowance, and food allowance granted under the regulation, must not exceed 3,000 rupees ...
