The Mauritian Revenue Authority Sept. 1 announced the Oct. 16 individual income tax filing and payment deadline for the income year ending June 30. Taxpayers can reserve a time slot online to obtain filing assistance from the Tax Agency. The announcement explains that a standard return is required of individuals who, in the income year: 1) earned net income over 325,000 Mauritian rupees (US$7,203); 2) earned gross business income over 2 million rupees (US$44,330); 3) received emoluments for which Pay As You Earn (PAYE) was withheld; 4) earned income that was subjected to Tax Deduction at Source (TDS); or 5) ...
