The Mauritian Revenue Authority June 1 announced tax filing deadline extensions and payment requirements due to the coronavirus pandemic. The extended deadlines include: 1) June 25 for returns due during the lockdown period; and 2) June 26 for returns due in the month of June. The announcement includes penalties and interest for late returns and electronic payment options for certain individual income taxpayers. Electronic payments are mandatory for corporate income taxes, VAT, pay-as-you-earn (PAYE), tax deduction at source (TDS), and National Pensions Fund (NPF) and National Savings Fund (NSF) contributions.
