Mexico Extends Fuel Tax Subsidy to Combat Rising Energy Prices

Mexico won’t levy the special tax on production and services, known as IEPS, on fuels for the eighth consecutive week to shield motorists from rising energy prices, the country’s finance ministry said Friday in a decree.

Between April 30 and May 6, the fiscal stimulus percentages on gasoline and on diesel will be 100%, so the IEPS fees will once again be zero Mexican pesos, according to the decree.
