Michigan Treasury Announces Tax Relief for Certain Counties

The Michigan Department of Treasury announced tax relief to individuals and businesses in 33 counties affected by severe weather events, including flooding, tornadoes, and storm damage. Affected taxpayers may request extensions for filing and payment deadlines for taxes due on or before April 30, including individual income tax, corporate income tax, and sales and use tax. The relief includes waiver of penalties and interest for qualifying taxpayers but is not automatic and must be requested.
