Microsoft Paid $3 Billion in Irish Corporate Taxes Last Year

Two Microsoft Corp. units paid more than $3 billion in Irish corporation tax last year, company filings show.

The tech giant’s main Irish subsidiary, Microsoft Ireland Operations Ltd., paid $475.7 million in tax in 2022, up from $401.36 million the previous year. Operating profit at the business was $3.55 billion last year.

Microsoft Ireland Research UC, meanwhile, paid $2.56 billion in tax. Its operating profit jumped to $21.43 billion last year from $18.87 billion in 2021, company documents show.
