Mississippi Extends Moss Point’s 2 Percent Sales Tax on Prepared Foods

The Mississippi Governor signed a law extending the repeal date for the City of Moss Point’s authority to levy an additional 2 percent sales tax on prepared foods sold by restaurants. The law extends the repeal date to July 1, 2030, and takes effect upon passage. [S.B. 3381, enacted 04/08/26]
