Moldova Parliament Considers Draft Bill on Adequate Minimum Wage Rates

The Moldovan Parliament May 27 accepted for consideration Draft Bill No. 171, to partially transpose EU Directive 2022/2041 on adequate minimum wage rates in the EU. The draft bill includes measures to: 1) establish the minimum monthly and hourly wage rates by government decision after consultation with employers’ associations and trade unions; 2) require the government, employers’ associations, and trade unions to examine the need to modify minimum wage rates at least annually using reference values, including 50 percent of the forecasted average monthly wage for the previous year; and 3) designate a research institution to advise on minimum wage ...
