The Moldovan State Tax Service Nov. 26 posted online an FAQ clarifying that qualifying taxpayers can chose between the VAT regime and the general tax regime. The clarification includes: 1) taxpayers must have at least 1.2 million lei (US$68,588) in VAT-exempt deliveries to choose between tax regimes; 2) taxpayers’ VAT-exempt deliveries must exceed taxable deliveries by at least 50 percent to choose between tax regimes; and 3) VAT-exempt deliveries with a deduction right, including exports, are considered taxable when calculating VAT-exempt and taxable deliveries.
