Morocco Lower House Considers 2025 Finance Bill

The Moroccan Chamber of Representatives Oct. 19 accepted for consideration Bill No. 60-24, the 2025 Finance Bill. The bill includes measures to: 1) increase the income tax exemption threshold to 40,000 Moroccan dirhams (US$4,044) from 30,000 dirhams (US$3,033); 2) update the income tax brackets and rates, including a decrease in the top marginal tax rate to 37 percent from 38 percent; 3) temporarily exempt VAT on specified live animal imports and agricultural products, from Jan. 1, 2025, to Dec. 31, 2025; 4) increase the annual family allowance to 500 dirhams (US$50) from 360 dirhams (US$36) per dependent, to a maximum ...
