Morocco Tax Agency Clarifies Taxation of First-Time Taxpayers for 2022

The Moroccan General Tax Administration Oct. 5 clarified the taxation of first-time taxpayers for 2022. The announcement explains that first-time taxpayers will be: 1) taxed on income acquired from the date of the taxpayer’s registration, beginning Jan. 1; and 2) eligible for the five-year business tax exemption and certain income tax exemptions and reduced rates. The announcement further explains that the incentives for first-time taxpayers under the 2022 Finance Act are extended until Dec. 31. [Morocco, General Tax Administration, 10/05/22]
