Namibia MOF Presents 2022-23 Budget Statement

The Namibian Ministry of Finance Feb. 24 presented the 2022-23 budget statement. The budget statement includes proposed tax measures that would: 1) reduce the non-mining company tax; 2) provide pension fund contribution deductions and educational policy deductions up to 150,000 Namibian dollars (US$10,003); 3) provide electronic tax filing relief for 12 months by writing off interest and penalties owed as tax arrears; 4) simplify tax payment and compliance procedures; and 5) set the VAT rate to zero for the supply of sanitary pads.
