Namibia MOF Presents Fiscal Strategy for Medium-Term Expenditure Framework

The Namibian Ministry of Finance March 31 presented the fiscal strategy for the medium-term expenditure framework, for 2025/2026-2027/2028. The fiscal strategy includes proposed tax measures that would: 1) reduce the non-mining company tax rate to 28 percent from 30 percent, effective April 1, 2026; 2) introduce a 10 percent dividend tax to maintain tax neutrality and exempt specific institutions, including pension funds, medical aid funds, and companies; 3) enhance regulations on hybrid equity instruments to address tax avoidance; 4) allow taxpayers to deduct rehabilitation costs for mining activities; 5) review tax brackets for inflation creep; 6) introduce a limit of ...
