The Dutch Official Gazette Nov. 21 published Decision No. 2023-23079, implementing temporary measures removing default penalties for qualifying entrepreneurs involved in the EU VAT e-commerce regime. The decision includes measures: 1) suspending the imposition of payment default fines for VAT due under the EU VAT e-commerce regime, for payment defaults occurring before June 1, 2024; 2) reversing covered payment default fines that have already been imposed; and 3) implementing a temporary emergency track facility until June 1, 2024, due to technical limitations in imposing automatic fines.
