Netherlands Lower House Considers Bill to Implement DAC8 Crypto-Asset Reporting Framework

The Dutch lower house of Parliament (Tweede Kamer) July 7 accepted for consideration Bill No. 36782, to implement EU Council Directive 2023/2226 on administrative cooperation (DAC8) and the Crypto-Asset Reporting Framework (CARF). The bill includes measures to: 1) apply reporting obligations to crypto-asset service providers beginning with reportable transactions in the period from Jan. 1, 2026; 2) correct omissions in the transposition of EU Council Directive 2021/514 (DAC7); 3) require reporting for reportable domestic crypto-asset transactions, for crypto-asset service providers on residents of non-EU countries, and on crypto-asset service providers operating in or from the Netherlands; 4) require the collection ...
