The Dutch Tax and Customs Administration Aug. 2 announced the Sept. 1 application deadline for rent and healthcare allowances for 2022. The announcement includes that: 1) an online calculator is provided to check entitlement to the allowances for 2022; 2) taxpayers who receive a 2022 allowance should check if their personal or income information changed for 2023, because they will automatically receive the allowance for 2023; and 3) taxpayers who know they aren’t entitled to a 2023 allowance should stop the allowance from Dec. 31, 2022, to avoid a repayment obligation.
