New Greek Government to Cut Property Taxes, Ease Tax Debt Terms

Greece’s new government introduced legislation July 29 that would reduce property taxes and ease repayment terms for debts owed to the country’s tax authorities.

The measure, which will go before the full Parliament July 30, is part of a broader tax overhaul aimed at reviving Greece’s contracted economy, a spokesman for the Ministry of Finance said.

The bill is expected to pass, given Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis’ absolute majority in Parliament and a July 22 parliamentary vote of confidence for his fiscal policy.
