A News Corp. unit lost its case to claw back millions of pounds in taxes as the UK’s top court ruled that online versions of newspapers can’t seek the same exemption from value added tax as paper versions.

After a series of flip-flops from three lower tribunals, the UK’s Supreme Court rejected News Corp UK & Ireland Ltd.’s attempt to reclaim more than £35 million it paid in taxes for the digital editions of The Times, The Sunday Times, The Sun and the The Sun on Sunday between 2010 and 2016.
