The Norwegian Ministry of Finance July 5 opened a consultation on a draft proposal to exempt from the electricity tax certain renewable energy sources. The draft proposal includes measures that would: 1) exempt from grid rent, VAT, and electricity tax housing companies using solar power; 2) implement an exemption from excise tax regulations; and 3) apply the exemptions to production plants with a total installed capacity of up to 500 KW per property.
